Pumpkin Pewter Salt and Pepper Shakers by Vagabond House - Set of 2
Ribbed pumpkin forms become two pewter salt and pepper shakers, finished with detailed stems, vine and leaf. Their small rounded shapes bring an autumn reference to the table without depending on a painted seasonal palette.
“I like autumn pieces that work with the flowers at hand. These pewter pumpkins can sit beside garden foliage as comfortably as a formal harvest arrangement.”
-Mrs. Mayfair

Maker / Heritage
Vagabond House began in 1986 by turning antique silver tableware into jewelry and table accents. The Haas and Hardy families focused the company on tableware after acquiring it in 2004, and three generations now contribute to the Sierra Madre, California business. Its designers look closely at nature, old architecture and antiques, then work with carvers, artisans and fabricators to bring those ideas into useful objects. In the pewter work, details such as the veins of an oak leaf or the textured skin of a pear are carved and polished into the form. That attention to small, recognizable things gives the pieces much of their character at the table.
