Poul M. Volther's compact J46 dining chair is given added depth by the Black Red painted-beech finish. The gently rounded backrest, slim spindles and straightforward seat retain the design's familiar 1956 outline, while the dark red-black color lends it a more intimate character than the natural oak version. It suits a room where the furniture is allowed to contribute color without relying on upholstery or pattern.

“I would use a deep color like Black Red where the light changes throughout the day. The J46's narrow spindles catch those shifts particularly well, and against a pale tablecloth the chair could provide an unexpected note of richness without overwhelming the dining room.”
-Mrs. Mayfair
