A softly scalloped rim brings movement to the Cottage Plate’s otherwise simple stoneware form. White and Sand glazes offer two quiet backgrounds for food, in Side and Dinner sizes that can be mixed or kept consistent. The waved outline adds enough decoration to sit happily with plain cutlery.

“With scalloped plates, I prefer a simply folded napkin; the edge already supplies a decorative line.”
-Mrs. Mayfair

Care & Ownership

Suitable for the microwave, oven and dishwasher. Wash with mild dish soap and a soft sponge, or place securely in the dishwasher with space between pieces. Dry fully before stacking; a soft separator helps protect rims.

For oven use, keep temperatures at or below 450°F. Avoid the broiler, stovetop and direct flame, and let the pottery warm and cool gradually. Do not move it straight from the freezer or refrigerator into a hot oven, or place a hot piece on a cold or wet surface.

For gray flatware marks, gently clean with a paste of baking soda and water or a mild scouring powder such as Bon Ami, then rinse and wash thoroughly. Avoid metal scouring pads.

Maker / Heritage

Founded in Woodstock, Vermont, in 2012, Farmhouse Pottery brings a working potter’s eye to everyday housewares. Founder James Zilian’s training in ceramics and years designing for Simon Pearce inform the restrained shapes; English studio pottery and the Japanese idea of wabi-sabi inform an affection for visible process and small variations. The signature Silo forms take their lines from Vermont’s farm silos, pairing white glaze with revealed clay. From that starting point, the collection extends into complementary tools and textiles, chosen to make a useful, tactile whole at home.
