Steak Knives with Walnut Handle by Laguiole en Aubrac – Set of 6
Walnut handles bring their warm grain to this set of six Laguiole en Aubrac steak knives, with stainless steel bolsters providing a bright contrast at the table. Each knife has a 4.25-inch Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel blade and the traditional shepherd’s cross detail on the handle. Made in France, the set lends itself to a well-used dinner table, where useful cutlery and the character of natural materials matter equally.
“Walnut is a lovely companion to white plates and familiar silver. I would let the grain of these handles be the detail, rather than add another pattern to the place setting.”
-Mrs. Mayfair

MAKER / HERITAGE
From workshops in Espalion and its own forge in Montézic, Laguiole en Aubrac carries forward the cutlery traditions of France’s Aubrac region. Each knife is made by a single cutler, keeping the shaping, fitting, and finishing of the piece in skilled hands. Recognized as an Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant, or Living Heritage Company, the maker combines local craftsmanship with a choice of natural handle materials. This modern manufacture helps sustain a regional Laguiole tradition with nineteenth-century roots.
