Squirrel and Acorn Salt and Pepper Shakers by Vagabond House - Set of 2
A pewter squirrel and an acacia wood acorn form the two shakers in this salt and pepper pair. The acorn has a pewter cap, bringing the contrasting animal and fruit forms together through their shared metal details.
“A pair need not be identical to belong together. The squirrel and acorn are a small conversation I would enjoy finding beside an otherwise simple setting.”
-Mrs. Mayfair

Occasionally condition clean, dry wood with a little food-grade mineral oil, keeping it clear of the holes.
Maker / Heritage
Vagabond House began in 1986 by turning antique silver tableware into jewelry and table accents. The Haas and Hardy families focused the company on tableware after acquiring it in 2004, and three generations now contribute to the Sierra Madre, California business. Its designers look closely at nature, old architecture and antiques, then work with carvers, artisans and fabricators to bring those ideas into useful objects. In the pewter work, details such as the veins of an oak leaf or the textured skin of a pear are carved and polished into the form. That attention to small, recognizable things gives the pieces much of their character at the table.
