J81 Painted Beech and Paper Cord Armchair in Jet Black by FDB Møbler

This Jet Black J81 emphasizes the confident outline of Jørgen Bækmark's broad-armed dining chair. The painted beech frame forms a strong graphic surround for the woven paper-cord seat, combining a crisp surface with the material warmth of the weave. Unlike a narrow side chair, the J81 gives the sitter arm support and a generous sense of place. The design works well as a deliberate accent within a varied dining arrangement.

“There are times when one black armchair can make a whole dining table feel more composed. I would use this J81 at the head of a table with mismatched side chairs, allowing the dark frame and woven seat to quietly establish the hierarchy.”
-Mrs. Mayfair
