A French-link snaffle bit curves around the napkin opening of this pewter ring. The Equestrian Bit design translates a recognizable piece of riding equipment into a sculptural table detail, sold individually for building a setting one place at a time.

“Horse lovers will recognize the bit without an explanation. I would give it a simple napkin, allowing its linked form to be the detail guests discover.”
-Mrs. Mayfair

Maker / Heritage

Vagabond House began in 1986 by turning antique silver tableware into jewelry and table accents. The Haas and Hardy families focused the company on tableware after acquiring it in 2004, and three generations now contribute to the Sierra Madre, California business. Its designers look closely at nature, old architecture and antiques, then work with carvers, artisans and fabricators to bring those ideas into useful objects. In the pewter work, details such as the veins of an oak leaf or the textured skin of a pear are carved and polished into the form. That attention to small, recognizable things gives the pieces much of their character at the table.
